I always feel a little weird filling out these "about me" things. It's like I'm trying to sell myself to a bunch of strangers, or like I'm on a first date and I really, really want the guy to like me. But here goes... I like to spend a lot of time outdoors, listen to music, go to live shows and read. I read a lot. Which makes sense, I guess, since I'm a writer and editor. I work for a small weekly newspaper, which is ironic because I don't really consider myself a journalist. I actually loathe journalism, so I completely understand when people are wary when I call them for an interview. I consider myself a writer first and foremost, but journalism is where I make a living. This makes it sound as if I don't like my job, which isn't true. I love it. I work for good people. Because I've completely sold out career-wise, I was able to buy a house last year. My parents helped me fix the place up, pulling up the carpet, refinishing the hardwood floors, laying tile and painting. And putting in a doggy door for woman's best friend, Darcy. Darcy and I love our new home, she because of the fenced-in yard, me because it's MINE!! ALL MINE!! MWAHAHAHAHA!! What else? I love my family and friends. I'm especially proud of my brother, who is currently in Iraq. I love him. He's goofy. He looks like me, but not as pretty. ~Sara
